One Day Author Panel

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting authors Marjan Kamali, Diana Renn, and Tara Sullivan in an author panel sponsored by the Needham Education Foundation. This year's One Day workshops revolved around the theme of identity. To explore this concept, our panel focused on identity in fiction and crafting authentic characters. Each panel session was very different as the conversation was driven by student questions.

Happy 2018!

There have been some big changes in the library collections and we are happy to introduce a new organization in fiction. Books are now grouped together by the following genres: fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, romance, science fiction, and sports. About half of fiction collection remains in general fiction and all fiction sections are still organized by the author's last name. We hope this will make browsing for books easier for you and we welcome any suggestions!

Forensic Science

This week, the students of Ms. Bunda's forensic science classes investigated the mysterious murder of Myra Mains. Students collected and analyzed evidence, interrogated suspects, and prepared a case against their prime suspect. Who do you think did it: Paige Turner, Ida Crooke, or Shay D. Thyme?

National History Day

This year's theme: CONFLICT & COMPROMISE

Are you passionate about sharing your ideas? Are interested in building a website or filming a documentary? Do you like building or performing? Join National History Day! This is an exciting opportunity that is available to all grade levels this year. Stop by the library for more information and join us on Tuesday afternoons if you want support with your creation.

Savvy Students Conquer the Library

We've added a fun spin to this year's library orientations! Students worked in groups to solve clues and complete tasks. Each step was designed to introduce students to available  resources and familiarize students with the library space. Did you miss orientation? Have you forgotten how to do something? We are very excited to offer Personal Shopping @TheNHSLibary! Students visited with their English classes to meet their best book matches for independent reading selection.
